The jerseys that lay dormant
It began with jerseys Franck Joubert no longer wore. Rather than let them lie dormant, he searched for the object that would bring them to life every day: the first bags were born, cut from football jerseys, Lacoste and Ralph Lauren polo shirts, lined with leather — what would later be called Haute Métamorphose.
In a Paris boutique, Djibril Cissé noticed one of them on its creator’s arm: “It’s worthy of a luxury designer bag, and even then, sometimes they rely heavily on the name… Whereas here, everything is well made!”
In January 2020, Hypebeast published the first article. SoccerBible, nss sports, Urban Pitch, Creapills, RMC Sport and L'Équipe followed. The house was only a few weeks old; the press was already talking about the bags.
